This post is to notify you of new lane closures for the SH146 project:
There will be alternating lane closures at the FM2094 and FM518 intersections with SH146 from 9:00pm to 5:00am nightly from 3/9/20 to 3/22/20. This closure is to complete intersection work. Two-way traffic will be maintained.
There will be alternating lane closures on SH146 between El Mar Lane and NASA Road 1 from 9:00am to 3:00pm on 3/7/20. This closure is to prepare for the upcoming traffic shift.
The outside (right) southbound lane on SH146 will be closed between FM2094 and Bel Road from 9:00am to 3:00pm from 3/9/20 to 3/13/20. This closure is to demolish and haul off concrete pavement.
The outside (right) northbound lane on SH146 will be closed on the Clear Creek Bridge (Seabrook / Kemah Bridge) from 9:00am to 3:00pm from 3/9/20 to 3/14/20. This closure is to prepare the widened bridge for the upcoming traffic shift.
TRAFFIC SHIFT – SEE UPDATE BELOW:
The SH146 main lanes will be shifted to the west between Kenneth Royal Drive and NASA Road 1 in Seabrook, and shifted to the east between NASA Road 1 in Seabrook and 6th Street in Kemah. The work will take place beginning on the night of 3/9/20. This work will allow for construction of the northbound frontage road in Seabrook and the majority of the bridge work for the Express Bridge, as well as the completion of the southbound arterial bridge widening.
*UPDATED – DATE EXTENDED* There will be alternating lane closures and short-term (5 minute or less) full closures / traffic halts at the intersections of SH146 and El Mar Lane, Capri Lane, and Kenneth Royal Drive from 9:00pm to 5:00am on the nights of 3/9/20 and 3/10/20. This closure is to remove the traffic signals at these intersections. These intersections will no longer be signalized. Striping will be modified to reflect this. Left turns will no longer be allowed from these streets onto SH146 southbound.
There will be alternating lane closures on SH146 from El Mar Lane in Seabrook to 8th Street in Kemah from 9:00pm to 5:00am nightly from 3/9/20 to 3/22/20. Two-way traffic will be maintained on SH146. These closure will be used to re-stripe the road and place concrete barriers.
The connector ramp from SH146 southbound to 10th Street / Shipyard Drive will be closed for demolition and reconstruction starting 3/13/20. The entire ramp will be demolished and a new ramp will be built. The connector ramp from 10th Street / Shipyard Drive to SH146 northbound will be re-opened before this closure happens.
These closures are subject to change if needed due to weather. The closures have been entered in the TxDOT PIO system. We will notify you of any changes or cancellations.
