TxDOT Update Jan. 24

This post is to notify you of new lane closures for the SH146 project:

  1. SH146 will have alternating lane closures near 3rd Street in Seabrook from 9:00am to 3:00pm on 1/24/20.  This closure is to install storm sewer under SH146.  Two-way traffic will be maintained.

  2. SH146 will have alternating lane closures near Miramar Green Street from 12:00am to 6:00pm on 1/25/20.  This closure is to install storm sewer under SH146.  Two-way traffic will be maintained.

  3. The outside (right) southbound lane on SH146 will be closed just south of NASA Road 1 from 6:00am to midnight on 1/25/20.  This closure is to install new fiber lines.

  4. The outside (right) northbound lane on SH146 will be closed near 3rd Street in Seabrook from 9:00am to 3:00pm on 1/30/20.  This closure is to pour new concrete pavement.

  5. The outside (right) northbound lane on SH146 will be closed on the Clear Creek Bridge (Seabrook/Kemah Bridge) from 9:00am to 3:00pm from 1/27/20 through 1/31/20.  This closure is to install a new guard rail.

TRAFFIC SHIFT:

*UPDATED – NEW START DATE* SH146 will have alternating lane closures between FM2094 and SH96 from 9:00pm to 5:00am on the nights of 1/27/20, 1/28/20, and 1/29/20.  This closure is to re-stripe and place barriers along the east edge of SH146.  Two-way traffic will be maintained.

  1. This operation will shift traffic to the east for this phase of construction (approximately 2 years).  2 lanes in each direction will be maintained.  Left turn lanes will be maintained.

  2. The dedicated right turn lanes on eastbound FM2094 and FM518 will be removed.  The outside left turn lanes will be modified to allow right turns.

BRIDGE DECK:

*UPDATE – NEW START DATE* The outside (right) northbound lane on SH146 will be closed for at least 36 consecutive hours on the existing Clear Creek Bridge (Seabrook/Kemah Bridge) from 11:00pm 1/28/20 through approximately 5:00pm 1/30/20.  The first 12 hours of this closure will allow for pouring a new section of bridge deck for the northbound widening.  The following 24 hours of this closure are to minimize vibrations that could cause cracking in the newly poured deck.

  1. The inside (left) lane will remain open so no detour is needed.  Expect delays during the morning rush hour periods.

These closures are subject to change if needed due to weather.  Uniformed Police Officers will be onsite to assist if needed.
